Marianne’s Banana Pudding

We have a pretty great system going. Our husbands neighbor for each other and so do we. That simply means, our husbands help each other work cows and we help each other cook for cowboys.

Banana pudding has become one of my favorite desserts. It’s the type of dessert you can layer up, make a big bowl of, and bring to a party. We actually this to a family Thanksgiving gathering almost every year. And it’s perfect for a summer bbq.

Ingredients

  • Cool Whip 8 oz.
  • whole milk 3 cups
  • sour cream 8 oz.
  • ripe bananas, sliced 3 
  • vanilla wafers 1 box
  • vanilla 1 tsp.

  • pudding mixture
    In a large bowl, beat together the milk and pudding mix – about 2 minutes. Add sour cream and vanilla.
  • Arrange 1/3 of the vanilla wafers covering the bottom. Next, layer 1/3 of the bananas, and 1/3 of the pudding mixture. Repeat twice more, adding wafers to the side of the bowl as you go.
  • Banana Pudding
    Cover and refrigerate for at least 5 hours or overnight.
  • Banana-Pudding
    Garnishing with additional wafers and sliced bananas on the top layer.

This recipe is pure perfection and will be the first thing to go at any party. Guaranteed.

I love that cooking give me a chance to be creative and indulge in some ‘play’ time – something we adults could do with a lot more. I adore losing myself in the rituals of chopping, stirring and tasting.
